I Almost Did the Devil's Work!
Recently, I stopped at a home and a man came out the door. I could tell he wasn't very interested so I quickly pulled out Steps to Christ and explained it to him. He gave me a dollar and invited me into his shop. I explained to him about Jesus' death for us, and the great controversy that is going on in the world between God and the devil over every soul.
“I know God sent you to my home today,” the man said. “And I almost did the devil's work by sending you away.” He pulled out a $100 bill and handed it to me. “I don't want anything for this. Please take it.” I did, and left two more books with him before praying with him. It was a very powerful experience.
“AII praise, honor, and glory will be given to God and to the Lamb for our redemption; but it will not detract from the glory of God to express gratitude to the instrumentality He has employed in the salvation of souls ready to perish. The redeemed will meet and recognize those whose attention they have directed to the uplifted Saviour. What blessed converse they have with these souls! ‘I was a sinner,’ it will be said, ‘without God and without hope in the world, and you came to me, and drew my attention to the precious Saviour as my only hope. And I believed in Him. I repented of my sins, and was made to sit together with His saints in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.’” Gospel Workers p. 5I8
Press on fellow laborers for Jesus has promised, “ ... lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world” Matthew 28:20.
