The Eternal Power of the Gospel
One day as I was walking down the street an old man came out of his
house and asked me what I was doing. I told him that I was sharing a
special message of health. He was interested and invited me into his
home.
No sooner than I was seated and began sharing my presentation, than
the man said, “I have been praying to God that He would send someone
just like you to me.” He continued to talk about God, so I just
listened. When he finished, I began to share the Gospel with him.
After a few minutes, the man said, “You are a saint of God. I have
been praying for a long time for God to send someone just like you
to my home. The doctors told me that I have an incurable illness,
but I still believe God alone has the power to heal me.”
He went on to tell me that his wife, did not believe in God and that
she had no interest in the Bible. “Could you please come back
tomorrow and share the gospel with my wife?” he asked.
Just then we noticed his wife had returned home. She walked in
through the door just as he was asking me, “Please, could you stay
and share the gospel with my wife, so that she will know that you
are a saint of God?”
Since she was looking directly at me, I prayed silently, and started
over, sharing with her my presentation on health. As I neared the
end of the presentation her husband asked me to share the gospel
again. As I began doing so, their children arrived home from school.
The lady’s sister also came in to the house. Soon there were 10
people in the living room earnestly listening to me share the
gospel.
As I was talking, the wife, whom her husband had said had no
interest in God or the Bible, began to cry. I told her that God
loved her and wanted to save her. The man was so happy! His whole
household heard the gospel message!
Since that time, my pastor and I have visited this family three more
times and they are now taking Bible studies. Please pray that God
will continue to bless them, and all of us who are seeking to
proclaim the three angels’ messages.
