Something Special


One day, I had knocked on 15 doors without one being answered, I was a tiny bit discouraged, but I kept working. At the 16th house, a lady opened the door.

“I’m sharing something very good with your neighborhood about health,” I smiled at her. At first she didn’t want to listen to me, but I assured her that the message that I had was very important.

At last she invited me in, and it wasn’t long before she opened up and began to share stories about her life. For nearly an hour she poured out story after story of her pain and difficulties. Suddenly, she looked directly at me and said, “I don’t know why I let you in my house! I never let anyone in for any reason when I am alone!”

Encouraged, I asked her, “Why do you think that you let me come into your house?”

“Something about you was special,” She replied.

I smiled as I quietly told her, “that something you sensed was the presence of God.”

Sensing her spiritual interest, I gave her a copy of Preparation for the Final Crisis and Steps to Christ with her purchase of the health book. After I had prayed with and for her she said, “I’m still amazed that I actually let you come into my home!” But, she did not regret it!
