Finishing a 2-year-old Conversation


I talk about God, constantly. In fact even as I was taking my driving test I began to speak to the man evaluating my driving skills about God.

Two years later, I knocked on the door of a funeral home. The man who came to the door looked familiar to me so I mentioned to him that he looked like someone I had met before, but I couldn’t quite remember. As we compared events in our lives, it turned out that he was the man with whom I had done my driving test! I also remembered that during the test we had a deep conversation about the end of time events.

Now God had sent me to visit this man again. The man remembered our conversation and was so excited that he grabbed the Great Controversy. “I want this one!” he exclaimed. He also took the Final Events DVD.

In Colporteur Ministry Mrs. White tells us that “We can enlighten the people only through the power of God. The canvassers must keep their own souls in living connection with God. They should labor praying that God will open the way, and prepare hearts to receive the message He sends them.” (CM 108)

I was so glad God gave me a chance to finish the conversation that started two years earlier!
