Health Evagelism in Munbai Reaps 21 Souls for Christ
In June 2009, our health evangelism series began in Mumbai, India. For the first two weeks, Pastor Wilmar Hirle, Associate Director for Publishing Ministries at the General Conference, and Pastor. A. J. Tito, Publishing Director for the Southern Asia Division, presented the main messages.
The first baptismal service was conducted in the Badlapur River, where seven people took a stand for Jesus Christ. A second baptismal service was conducted at the Mumbai Central Church on Sabbath, June 28th; 14 people were baptized for Jesus Christ.
Our meetings continued and another baptism was scheduled for June 30th in Badlapur, which is east of Mumbai. More than 50 people and their pastors were looking forward to this baptismal ceremony.
Hundreds of Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs regularly attended these meetings. On June 30th we distributed more than 200 Bibles to them. In the very near future, we plan to establish one of the largest churches in Mumbai.
